ARDII LATX

Marc O'Callaghan Archetypal, monolithic, universal album based on field recordings of sheeps moaning on the fields, filtered and worked through Agnès' idiosyncratic, rhizomatic and fractal sampling of splinters of audio reality. Although she says it "is not a field recording album, it is an album by and for sheep". It makes me wonder where's the line between the listener and what is being listened, between a non-human audience and sheepy humans.

about

ARDII LATX is an album made from sound samples of latx sheep bleats.
The project begins during the stay at Tabakalera (Donosti) in November 2020, based on precedents -somewhat distant from the logic of field recordings- such as "Baa, Baa, The Singing Sheep" (Virgin, 1983) by the producer and founder of Virgin Richard Branson or "Sheep's Choir" (Kiwi, 1963) by Ashley Clinton.

ARDII LATX is presented under the pretext of creating a DJ Tools that materialises in a random didactic sound journey that goes from the presence of sheep in popular music to the similarity of vibrato with the sound of bleating.

Bleats recorded in October 2020 during the residency at Tabakalera (Donosti) [https://www.tabakalera.eus/en/artist-residencies/ardii-latx-agnes-pe-tomas]
Published thanks to the Ayudas a la Creación Artística - Ministerio de cultura y deporte (Spain).

Thank's to all the shepherds and sheep who have collaborated in this project, especially to the Casería Erraizabal - Ecomuseo del Pastoreo (Legapzpi) and to Ekin and his family.

about

agnes pe Lleida, Spain

Agnès pe works on sound beyond the limits enshrined by any musical genre.
Her work is characterised by a fun and overwhelming attitude -all or nothing style-, covering the parameters of MIDI files, and always seeking new ways of relating to the elements she re-composes.
She creates lush top hit songs pieces puzzled into a grotesque musical disformity. No speed limit.
